Learn The First Step Of Your Search Engine Optimization
Quite many times people confuse Search Engine Optimization with Keyword Research, and Keyword Optimization. Yet the truth is SEO involves many steps of optimization methods, and the combination of these methods gives an effective Search Engine Optimization – not only Keyword Research and implementation of Keywords to the website. So it is obvious that the fundamentals of SEO is indeed the keyword research.
Yet the question is how do you do your keyword research? Where do you start?
One generic answer to these questions is Google AdWords keyword research (or maybe some other keyword research tools like Keyword Discovery, etc). Even though these are great tools to get your keywords, they are pretty much useless if you don’t know how you are going to market yourself on the net. In other words, rather than just finding mostly-searched-keywords in your industry (even though these keywords may not be dominated by your competitors), you need an internet marketing strategy to be able to select the most viable keywords for your own presence. Looking at it from another angle, you should develop your internet marketing strategy to find your keywords, unlike developing your internet marketing strategy with respect to the keywords that you find.
The next question then will be; how do you develop your internet marketing strategy?
In order to develop a marketing strategy, you need to know what your competitors are doing as to how your products and services should fit into your industry. This means you need to do an analysis of your competitors, which will give you invaluable information regarding their keywords, where they are getting most of their web traffic, which products and services they are focusing on, where they are getting their backlinks, etc. Once you are armed with this information, it will give you an ability to determine your own marketing goals, and ultimately set your internet marketing strategy.
So if we were to start a well planned Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to set our internet marketing strategy, our first step should be assessing our competition. From this point, we can set our marketing strategy, which will enable us to determine our keywords a lot more precisely.
